Study Goals

Degree interests and study direction

My aim is to progress from the Nigeria Certificate in Education into a full undergraduate degree in computing, combining formal study with the web development work I already practise.

Fields of interest

Listed in order of priority. Computer Science remains the primary target, with closely related fields considered where a programme is a strong academic fit.

Computer Science

A rigorous foundation in algorithms, data structures, computer architecture, and problem solving — the core academic goal.

Software Engineering

Designing, testing, and maintaining reliable software systems, building on hands-on web development practice.

Information Technology

Systems, networks, and digital infrastructure that keep organisations and their services running.

Cybersecurity

Secure development practices, threat awareness, and protecting user data on the websites and systems I build.

Data Science

Turning data into decisions through statistics, analysis, and programming — including web and business analytics.

Bioinformatics

A natural bridge between computing and my NCE Biology study: applying computation to biological data.

Computing

Broad computing pathways and foundation routes that lead into a full degree in the fields above.

Target countries

Countries where programmes and funding options are currently being researched. No application outcome or admission is claimed.

Destination 01

United Kingdom

Three-year honours degrees, foundation entry routes, and strong Computer Science departments.

Destination 02

United States

Four-year programmes with broad electives and flexible majors in Computer Science and IT.

Destination 03

Australia

Applied technology degrees with industry placement and strong post-study pathways.

Destination 04

Switzerland

Research-driven computing education with a strong engineering and applied sciences tradition.

How I am preparing

  1. 01

    Academic readiness

Maintaining and documenting NCE results, and preparing additional examination results as they become available.

  2. 02

    Practical evidence

Continuing to build real client websites so applications are supported by a genuine portfolio.

  3. 03

    Programme research

Comparing entry requirements, foundation routes, and funding across my four target countries.
